I will never use DDLC Energy. When I called them by accident, they pretended to be another oil company just to get my business. I had meant to call another oil company instead. That experience led me to this site. I am from out of state and intend to move to the area soon.

I was very disappointed with the service I recieved from this company. First, the ladies that spoke with on the phone were very rude and unprofessional. They told me numerous things that they did, and should have posted to my account and they never did. They also never canceled my contract with them, which they said they did,and we were still recieving oil deliveries. Which we got charged for, even though they said they wouldn't charge us. Overall, I would rather pay a higher oil price then have a contract with them.

I have been doing business with DDLC for over 25 years. In the past year they changed their billing practices such that my payments always seem to be late. I pay my bills monthly, at the end of the month. When they deliver oil they do not leave a bill, only an invoice. The bill will come a couple weeks later. They want bill paid by the last day of that month. I pay it with everything else at the end of the month; their payment gets there, but it may get there on the second day of the next month. They charge me a late fee for this.
This is the same way I have paid bills all my life and I have never had a problem. All of a sudden this is a problem with them. I have addressed it with them numerous times, and the fees are dropped, but this is getting to be a pain in the butt.
Five dollars an oil delivery extra because our billing cycles don't agree is rediculous. So, I have two options. First is I can keep an eye out for DDLC and make special arrangements to get them paid early or I can find another oil company.
FWIW, I just changed insurance companies for the first time in 15 years due to a dispute I had with them and now I get better coverage for $2000 a year less. Its time to do a little oil company shopping. Bye DDLC!!! I told you numerous times that if you didn't stop this practice I was going to leave. I understand that you cant "change this just for you (me)". Frankly my point is that you should cease this practice for everybody. Charging a late fee is fine, but 30 days from when you send the bill. Don't send a bill weeks after the oil is delivered and then base your late fee on the oil delivery date. rswanson330@charter.net

I have dealt with a couple of oil companies, and numerous businesses, and DDLC is the WORSE COMPANY, my husband and I have EVER dealt with. They NEVER return your phone calls, when you have a question, problem/dispute, and their billing system, is horrible up. There is no communication between corporate, and their local branches. We had closed our account with DDLC, because of the HORRIBLE, NON-PROFESSIONAL, HARASSING oil company that they were, and what happens? We get a delivery of oil, which we did NOT NEED, AND DID NOT REQUEST. Now we are forced to pay a bill of almost $400.00. We NEVER received a copy of the receipt of that delivery, or who from DDLC, delivered that oil. Our house is next to a house that is the same color as our house, and it has the same colored door. My husband and I are almost sure they got the oil, and not us!!! We have been talking with both corporate and our local branch, since October 2010, and NO ONE, has ever researched, and tried to resolved this for us, we were PROMISED by 3 different pepole that they would get to the bottom of it, and call us back, BUT NO ONE EVER CALLED US BACK. They feel we are trying to get out of paying the bill, which is a lie. If we requested/needed oil, we would have paid for it, but we had a full tank of oil, and we told the company, that we were through with them, and looking elsewhere for another company...Sorry for the long story, but if people don't know, the same thing may happen to you. I will follow-up with the BBB.....

I was in a contract for automatic delivery with a capped price with DDLC and all they did was nickel and dime me every time they brought me out oil. They were quick to deliver oil, but they kept raising the price even though I was in a contract. What a rip off...often charing anywhere from 70 cents to 1.00 dollar a gallon more than all the other oil copanies in Southeast Connecticut. My advice to everyone is to make the calls and compare the prices... In closing, I closed my account with DDLC and took my business elsewhere. grnmac@aol.com

My other oil company let me run out of oil 4 days before XMas and would not come out until much later the next day. I called and spoke to a nice fella named Andrew-he came right over and set up my account and I've never run-out again. He offered me a great guaranteed price and the service techs that have come out have been courteous and very professional. This a great company with great people working for them!! **** jbarnes@aol.com
